289 N. 300 West Street
The property for this one-story pyramid, frame house with a
hip and gable roof, built in 1898, was given to Angeline Brown by her father,
Joseph Gurnsey Brown. She was a
wife of William James Fraizer McAllister, who built the house. W. J. F., as he was called, was a
master carpenter and excellent musician.
In later years he was an apiarist and produced fine honey. Wesley McAllister, the son of Angeline
and W. F. J., remodeled the inside of the house but did not alter the shape of
the outside.
The present owner is Theo McAllister.
