1923 -24 LDS Church Building

Located on the north east corner of Main and Center Streets

In 1923 this beautiful rock and brick structure was built as the Church of Latter-day Saints meeting house.  The call to assist in building this Chapel came just after World War I when there was a slump in business.  Many donations were made and entertainments were given, which were used to defray the expenses.  Many men donated days and days of labor.
The corner stone was brought from Kanab Creek, below the mouth of Hack’s Canyon with a team and was faced and engraved by Roland Rider.  This stone is unique, for a picture of a landscape can be seen in it.
It is in the plans for this building to soon be restored to the original exterior.
