Parry Lodge

89 East Center Street

The Parry Lodge in Kanab is a tradition, a landmark, and an asset to this area.  In 1930 Whit Parry, along with his brothers, Chauncey and Gronway, bought the Justin M. Johnson home, built in 1904, which became the main building at Parry Lodge.  The Parry brothers  prepared a portfolio of pictures of Southern Utah and in 1943 they traveled to Hollywood hoping to convince producers of the area’s scenic value.  They succeeded.  In the years to come, the Lodge would gain world –wide recognition, and Mr. Parry and his staff would feed, lodge and transport actors and the technicians of the movie industry.  Parry Lodge has always had a reputation for excellency in lodging and food.  The present owner is Steve M. and Judy Heaton.
